Planning
When we first looked into the project, the daunting task of obtaining planning permission seemed to be a whole world of confusion. I looked online at the planning portal which was were I was directed by our local council as the place to submit applications and which plays host of a wealth of information. I found a really useful tool to tell me what we could and couldn't do. It's the offical government website so I knew what I was reading was right. The interactive house gives a simple guide to what you can and cannot do. A few helpful links below!

Permitted development is where you do not have to apply for planning permission.
You can find out what is classed as permitted development from the above links.
We decided to submit an application for a 'Certificate of Lawful Development' as last thing we wanted to find is that the planning rules have changed and/or we become unstuck when trying to sell or something daft like that. Better to be safe with these things!
