The Proposed Idea

On the right is what we decided to submit for the planning application. We decided as we were going through the process we may as well apply to do two different things at once. So we also applied to complete a loft conversion at the same time. Who knows if we'll go through with it at the moment but the option is there is we want it at a later stage!
We decided after looking into it all that to apply for a 'Certificate of Lawful Development' was the way we wanted to go. There are a few type of 'permitted development which you are allowed to go without actually needing planning permission at all! (more info on this later).
We decided that as once the building notice is submitted and you start on site the time limits to start and finish are not really a problem as long as you have paid the building control people (Again, more on this later)

Bullet Point PlanThere were basically the following stages we were planning on completing: 1. Demolish existing conservatory 2. Demolish existing chimney stack on the outside wall of the house 3. Open up using a concrete lintel or Steel beam the gap between the old kitchen and the new to make it all one room. 4. Build a single story extension 5 Replace the old wooden bedroom window which is all rotten and single glazed. |
